Resources for Male Survivors

Welcome to all male survivors and their friends and families.

The world is progressing at a rate the likes of which we have never seen before. Sadly, however, some aspects of this progress are not as prevalent as we would like. One of these aspects is the embracing of males as victims and survivors of abuse. Although it is slow to progress, it is progressing none the less.

We would like you to know that you are accepted. We would like the opportunity to help you on your healing journey. You are not alone.

Some statistics indicate that 1 in 6 boys are abused before the age of 16. However, most studies suggest the true numbers cannot be clearly defined, due to underlying variables.

It is common for one to build a fort around one's heart in order to protect against further hurt. This may work temporarily, but it will ultimately be harmful. It is okay to take that step forward and begin the healing process. You are not weak and you are not deficient. You are strong and useful. You do have much to offer to the world.

His extensive resources and references provide a good starting point for independent research you wish to conduct.
